RATING: 100/100 - Perfect. An electronic masterpiece that might just be Charli's magnum opus. One of the best albums of this year so far without a hint of doubt.
No electronic project released this year is coming anywhere close to this one. 'BRAT' is in its own, sassy league.
This is THE electropop album of the year - possibly even one of the best of the decade. I mean what album has the AOTY like button changed from red to the color of the cover? Come on.
The wonky, electronic, bass filled sound of this album is exactly what you would want it to be. THIS is what you would want a Charli album to sound like. I've never loved her sound so much. Her sound is so fleshed out and thought out here and the bouncy and oftentimes bass filled enough to shake a room beats are intoxicating.
2024 has been an INCREDIBLE year for music so far - and this album deserves its quickly gained must-hear status. This album is an absolute powerhouse of variety & bouncy, wonky electronic sounds. I love all of the different sounds present here and I'm so happy that this album has so much variety. All of the songs are delightfully different and the quality of the overall sound is breathtaking.
'BRAT' is wonderfully put together - some of the songs are short & sweet and some of them are a more "normal" length; and they work either way. 'I might say something stupid' is probably my personal least favorite here, the dip in energy doesn't really fit in with the rest of the album and it isn't a track I would really come back to (also the abrupt ending made me think my Spotify was acting up lol).
The sound of 'Talk Talk' makes me feel like I'm in an incredibly well done edit - and it isn't the only track that feels like that either. This album is quite literally perfect for the club - it's a leap in a new, fierce, and adventurous direction that works for Chari delightfully. I would be an absolute superfan if everything she did sounded similar to this album - and she's pulling me in to her grasp.
I had already LOVED the singles being released so this album is quite the treat. It's the perfect album for fans of that slightly wonky, club orientated music sound. This album was great for me and I love the sound that Charli used for this album. It's something so different for her while still keeping the charm of some of her other music - it expands on that charm and makes a project that just explodes.
'BRAT' is easily one of the best and most iconic album of this year. The waves that this album has been making before and since it released is unlike anything else I have seen this year - or from any album for that matter. Everyone with the green profile pictures, the colors being changed on AOTY for this albums' page; this album will go down in history as a timeless classic.
'So I' is another slight tone shift in the album but it works better than track 4, 'I might say something stupid'. It works in the context of the album very well and the sound fits in with the other songs despite being a change in energy. The lyrics are quite nice as well and it really shows off how versatile Charli can be with her music.
This album is something so refreshing and well done. There's something truly special found in the production, style, and sound on 'BRAT', and it will go down as one of the best albums of this year - possibly even this decade.
I love how this album is bringing so many people together. It has the same unifying qualities that Beyoncé's 'RENAISSANCE' had, only in a different format. There is so much fun to be had with this album, and it is one of my favorite releases from this year. I'm only slightly late to the party, but I'm here now and loving every minute of it. There's something for almost everyone here - and if this album seems like your cup of tea; listen to it. You won't regret the 41 minutes and 23 seconds of your time put in for this album.
No two songs on 'BRAT' are the same, and it's delightful. There is so much variety on this album and it keeps it so interesting to listen to. There's so much to be heard on this album and I highly recommend it to anyone reading this post if it seems up your alley.
This album mixes and matches with so many different styles and sounds of electronic music and it all worked excellently. The album itself is arranged to perfection and Charli oozes charisma through her vocal and lyrical performances. The production of this album steals the show - but there is lots to love in the vocal and lyrical department a lot of the time too.
I personally do think '365' could've been a single (I know '360' is, but there's something delectable about the production on '365'). The production is absolutely mindblowing - but it might not be "radio friendly" enough to be single material. It is one of my personally picked highlights from the album - the production is like nothing else I have heard before.
'BRAT' is a must hear album for any electropop fans. You won't regret the listen.
