SCORE: 89/100: INCREDIBLE ALBUM. FUN ALL THROUGHOUT AND ANOTHER ALBUM WORTH DANCING TO.
Move over Sabrina Carpenter, move over Taylor Swift, move over pop music - Kylie is here.
The counterpart and sequel album to 2023's 'Tension' is a similar album in style, but it feels more mature. It feels more refined and steers away from just being pop to dance to - it's still dance pop, but there's something more to it. This is one of the rare instances of a sequel being better than the first installment, and this album feels like a more coherent project in terms of composition.
'Tension II' feels similar to 'Confessions on a Dance Floor' by Madonna while having elements that are heavily reminiscent of 'Tension'. The album spices things up and switches up enough to be different from the previous album without drifting too far away from the original integrity and structure.
This album feels very much so like a club set - almost moreso than her previous work. This album feels more textured and has more bass-heavy sounds compared to the sounds presented on most songs on 'Tension'. The album feels more modern whereas the first installment feels more 70s-80s in terms of production and style - largely due to the heavy disco influence, which can be heard here too - but on a lesser scale.
'Tension II' perfectly mixes and matches with different sounds while having a very consistent style and set of themes. The album is fun and another record that you can put on and dance all the way through.
This is exactly what a pop album should be. Short, sweet, and something you can listen to, have fun with, and dance to every song on the tracklist.
Sounds like a fun album to listen to!🥳
