SCORE: 98/100. NEAR PERFECTION. AMAZING ALL THE WAY THROUGH WITH LITTLE TO NO WEAK CONTENT WITHIN THE COMPOSITION OF THE ALBUM. FUN TO LISTEN TO AND SOMETHING NEW AND EXCITING - EXACTLY WHAT YOU WOULD WANT FROM DANNII.
It's unfortunate when music this good isn't on Spotify.
The production on this album is absolutely incredible - Dannii's work is just as good, and sometimes even better than Kylie's, and she unfortunately goes unrecognized a lot of the time which is a shame to say the least. I wish more people knew about her albums and that they were as huge as Kylie's were.
'Club Disco' is an incredibly fitting title that I find sums up the album to perfection. The songs are catchy and fun, and they are full of production that will make you want to get up and dance. There is a big club feel to the atmosphere and sound of the album - and the tracks come together wonderfully. The transitions and buildups feel like something straight out of a DJ set, and the album itself still sounds fresh over a decade later.
This album takes a fresh new approach to the disco sounds of the 70s and 80s and makes the genre something new and modern. There are elements of house and other forms of dance music incorporated to the disco base of the production - adding a new spin and twist to a genre that was once considered dated. This is an essential nu-disco album for any fans of the genre - or anybody wanting to start getting into the genre.
The songs go by quickly and blend into the next very well. It's a seamless listening experience that will have you bobbing your head and tapping your foot with each track. The buildups are all incredibly well done and the production is awestriking. Each track has so many layers to it through the synths, hi-hats, bass, vocals, and effects - there's more layers than one can count on two hands to be found here.
There's a huge amount of variety on this album which keeps it interesting and fun to listen to from front to back. I was worried that this album was going to drag but my worries were soon melted away as the album enchanted me with the synths and dance-heavy production.
The balance on this album is incredible. It does a lot without feeling like it's doing "too much". There's a wonderful harmony to be found within this album, the elements don't clash - each element lifts the other up and leads to one of the greatest, most underrated dance albums I have ever personally heard.
