SCORE: 50/100. MEDIOCRE.
Surely this is one of those albums with unfair low scores... right? Right guys?

Oh. Nevermind.
This isn't a "bad" album by any means, but it isn't remotely close to what you would want from a band with an album as incredible as 'Appetite For Destruction'. This album immediately starts off with an unneeded and boring ballad - showcasing the fact that Axl Rose is a good vocalist
who can't sing.
The Axl Rose argument is one I will stand by; it makes no sense, but it's true in my mind. He is an incredible vocalist and one of the best in the genre - but the guy can't sing. He can yell, he can scream; he can sing metal. But can he sing? No. He isn't meant for tender ballads or softer songs, he's meant for that heavy, fast sound presented on their debut.
This album lacks the fire and the energy of their debut. It seems lackluster when compared to their other work, and even though GNR aren't a super well-loved album on this site, I can see why this album is ranked so low down in the 1993 chart. There are some very good moments to be had here, but it's nothing compared to anything on 'Appetite For Destruction'. The vocals are meh at best and abysmal at worst, but the instrumentals hold up pretty well.
'"The Spaghetti Incident?"' lacks the charm and dimension of their other music. It is the start of a bad run for the band and it lacks anything that can really grab and hook you into the album.
It's never a good sign when a song or moment on an album makes you make a face. That was what happened to me upon hearing the abysmal vocal performance delivered on 'Down on the Farm'. What were they thinking?
This album is boring and drags from the very first song. It lacks anything that really stands out, and one of the main tracks that sounded like what you might expect/want from GNR was 'Human Being', which is still quite lackluster.
